Nordstrom Begins Offering Zero-Waste Packaging

Sustainability is at the top of everyone's mind right now, and Nordstrom is working to accommodate that nearly impossible retailer quandry. Thanks to a relationship with Package Free, the zero waste founded in 2017 by Lauren Singe, going waste-free has never been easier. Nine Nordstrom locations will feature pop-up zero-waste shops across North America. The goal is to make no-trash shopping as accessible as possible.

"We know our customers want to support brands with strong values that help create positive change and we hope this shop will inspire them to learn about new ways to live a more trash-free life," said Nordstrom's vice-president of Creative Projects, Olivia Kim.

The increased focus on waste comes with new research. The average US citizen produces about 4.5 lbs of waste per day. Singer has produced less than a mason jar's worth in 16 years!

Pop-In@Nordstrom x Package Free is the official name of the project. During this time, Nordstrom will adhere to running a zero-waste warehouse, including displays, shipping, and other accomadations.

Available for purchase will be starters for lunches, laundry, and menstrual health. Some others include an all-natural laundry detergent in a glass jar that can be refilled. There's also refillable dental floss, soaps, scrub brushes, toothbrushes, lipstick, and more!
