Hunger is about a young member of the Provisional Irish Republican Army who was jailed illegally and went on a hunger strike to protest his incarceration. Losing More Than Weight

While Fassbender was in the process of starving himself, he recounted that he had completely lost his sex drive. He also believed that starving made him more focused and driven to attack his goals, but that was actually just common delusions that humans can experience when severely malnourished.
