Pierce Brosnan came onto the scene in 1999's GoldenEye, and he decided to make his version of Bond a well-traveled playboy by day, killer by night. One key difference between Brosnan's Bond and other actors' is that this one didn't smoke due to Brosnan's personal distaste for it.

Timothy Dalton won the role of 007 over Jurassic Park star Sam Neill. He read several of Fleming's classic novels before finally appearing in 1986's The Living Daylights. His performance, however, received mixed reviews.
