Rob Lowe explained in his interview about his experience in the Playboy mansion that it was highly unlikely that any ordinary person could get in. He stated: “An invitation to come to the mansion… was a tough ticket to get. You couldn’t buy your way in; you couldn’t use connections or a publicist or any Hollywood lever pulling. Invitations came directly from Hugh Hefner, and he cast his parties very carefully in those days,” in an interview with Esquire magazine.
