In 2016, McSwiggan posted a video of himself titled I Did Gay Porn And I'm Sorry, which garnered a lot of negative criticism for how he portrayed the sex work industry. Calum McSwiggan posted a photo of himself in a hospital gown, claiming he'd been jumped after leaving a gay club and then treated poorly by police when trying to report the accident. "I’ve never felt so terrified to be a gay man in the public eye,” he wrote. The real story is that he'd actually been arrested for vandalism, and both parties were guilty of assault.
