Nirvana was an incredible band who did a lot of things that other bands never thought of doing. They were popular in their time and even more so after Kurt Cobain committed suicide. After that, they fell into the overrated category as companies profited off of their grim past.

Some clothing brands even printed Cobain's suicide letter on t-shirts. People will wear Nevermind shirts without even listening to the album. Despite how good a band can be, they can easily get oversaturated and overrated just by how people treat them.
