Royal Family Shares Photo of Young Queen Elizabeth When She Took the Throne

The Royal Family has an official Twitter account where they share updates and throwbacks. They ended up sharing a photo of Queen Elizabeth II in her very first year as Queen.

She was born in 1926 and took the throne in 1952. She married Prince Charles in 1947. She is currently the longest reigning and living monarch in world history!

The photo shows Queen Elizabeth attending a charity event in 1952. She ascended the throne after her father passed away. Her coronation didn't take place until months after this photograph was taken.

“The Queen is Patron of over 500 organizations and charities,” the Twitter post reads.
