Delaware Animal Shelter Seeking Holiday Sleepover Placements

The Brandywine Valley SPCA in Brandywine, DE is looking for families to host their shelter pets for sleepovers this holiday season.

The "sleepover" is effectively a short-term fostering of a cat or dog to give them a break from shelter life. For families who will be staying home this Christmas, this is a great opportunity to give a homeless pet some stressfree downtime out of their kennel and socialized in a home setting.

This is the second year that the BVSPCA will be holding their sleepover program. In 2018, the program helped 30 shelter pets spend the holidays with families, and they hope that this year, the number will grow even larger.

To host a shelter pet holiday sleepover, they're offering two different options:

Santa Sleepover Pickup: Friday 12/20 – Monday 12/23
Return: Thursday 12/26 – Monday 12/30
Pickup: Friday 12/20 – Monday 12/23
Return: Thursday 12/26 – Monday 12/30

Winter Break Sleepover Pickup: Friday 12/20 – Monday 12/23
Return: Thursday 1/2 – Sunday 1/5
Pickup: Friday 12/20 – Monday 12/23

If you're interested in hosting a shelter pet for a holiday sleepover, you can sign up on their website at https://bvspca.org/sleepover/.

The shelter will help you find the right pet to foster regardless of your living situation.
