There's also Brian, the talking dog, who might be the only smart character in the series. It first aired in 1999.

Debuting in 1999, Spongebob quickly became a favorite for all Nickelodeon kids. Following the life of a sea sponge under the sea while he works as a fry cook at the local fast-food restaurant, The Krusty Krab, this show was an instant classic. He, joined by BFFs Patrick and Sandy, lovingly annoy his neighbor Squidward and care for his pet snail, Gary. The show is full of fun hijinks!
