Ghosts in the Tower of London

The Tower of London was built around 1066 by William the Conqueror. It was originally constructed as a way to keep the locals in check and to ward off any foreign invaders. It quickly became a place where horrific history was made.

Hundreds, if not thousands, of people have been murdered at the Tower. Most victims at the tower were those who had political and religious differences than that of the governing ruler. Some royals weren't able to avoid their grizzly fates...

After King Edward IV died in 1483, his son, Edward, was next in line to rule. Since he was only 12 at the time, Edward IV's brother, Richard III, would assume the throne. Eventually, as most royals do, he was able to legitimize both of Edward IV's young sons and lock them away at the tower.

The boys were notably happy at the Tower, especially since they had each other and got "special treatment" due to their royal status. Later that same year, they suddenly disappeared.

No one knew what happened to them until two skeletons were discovered buried under a staircase in the Tower years later. It's assumed that Richard III had them murdered to secure his spot for the throne.

Guests of the Tower claim to see two young boys running around, hand in hand. Those guests have also claimed that they didn't feel scared when they saw the ghostly boys, but happy.

Many royals have met their fates at the Tower. Anne Boleyn, the second wife if notorious King Henry VIII, was executed at the Tower as well. Arbella Stuart, the great-great-granddaughter of Henry VII, was executed at the Tower after secretly marrying Wiliam Seymour in an attempt to get to the throne.

So many other famous royals have been murdered at the Tower of London that it's hard to keep count. Many guests believe that the spirits are still roaming the areas, reliving their tragic deaths.

The number of the unknown murdered folks vastly exceeds that of the royals. There are multiple mysterious apparitions that haunt the Tower to this day. Even though this place has a ton of history, paranormal enthusiasts value it differently.
